The other day I was out running at 1200 RPM when my engine just quit on me. Now when I turn it over it sounds like there is no compression and the timing belt does not move even though the fly wheel is turning. Has anyone had this happen before or is this a common malfunction? The timing belt is a little loose but does not look broken. Just thought I would see if I could get any info before I start taking parts off.

OK, you cannot see the flywheel on these boats, so call a mechanic.

The timing belt has stopped functioning, you'll need to dig into it and see what you need, probably a belt and tentioner...These can be bought as auto parts and are not marine specific.
