Have an 81 AQ125A. New plugs, wires, fuel pump, filter, rebuilt carb etc. Runs great and starts right up after the initial start. I realize the carbs on these engines have no choke but the first start of the day is horrible, even embarassing if at the dock. It takes me about 10 minutes if not more to get it running and warmed up to start the day. I was just wondering if anyone had any hints, or something I could be missing, thanks.

Shouldn't take 10 minutes to warm up. May need a new thermstat.
Keep it tuned up, the dwell on the high side, timing on the money, carb mixture adjusted, good timing belt and it should start after a couple of pumps of the throttle and run it around 1500 rpm while it warms up for a few minutes.
Idle rpm warm should be around 900 rpm.
