aq 130 ran fine today, then died and wouldn't start-please help!

Greetings,

I started up the boat today at the dock for the maiden voyage of the new year. The port side engine started first then the starboard engine (both aq130's/280 od's). Both were idleing nicely as I prepare for a nice day on the water. Then the port side engine died and I started it back up again. A minute later it dies again and this time when I crank it up the starter gear is making a unfriendly grinding noise. After a few tries with that and still no starting the engine won't even turn over and I look at the instrument gauge for that engine and it is dead too! There is no current to the gauges for that engine and I can't get that engine to bump at all from either the fly bridge console or the interior console. Meanwhile the starboard engine is purring nicely the whole time.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks for the help!

Okay,

So I went through the starter/solenoide checklist and I'm having a hard time finding the starter relay. This motor is an older 1980 AQ130d.

I was able put a jump wire on the solenoid terminals from the large terminal A to the smaller terminal B and the starter turned fine but for some reason I have no current to the control panel which also powers the VHF radio and depth finder. Hmmm...everything worked fine yesterday on initial start up...

So... no click when I turn the ignition key, no current to the control panel, turns over when I jump the solenoid terminals. Also, the boat is not in gear.
Points look good too.

Does this sound like a relay to you guys and if so where is it??

Thanks,

Charlie
