Re: Aq115a fuel pump help

Just took old pump off its fine apart from the lever has fallen off so i need a new or used lever shaft , I cant find it in the engine bay :( It screws in and out from out side the pump so i cant see it has fallen inside the engine
The lever shaft is the screw that goes through the pump body and through the lever and screws on :)
Has anyone got an old one i could maybe get ? I will pay for it and delivery no problem

Re: Aq115a fuel pump help

I've heard people talk about that happening. Sorry that I don't have a lever but you might want to try ebay. There is a company in California that has quite a few ebay listings for small parts. Seems that they take an engine apart and sell just about every bolt and washer separately. You'll figure out who they are pretty soon when you start looking.

Here's a link: volvo penta aq130 in Parts & Accessories | eBay

You'll need to scroll through the listings or do a search for an AQ130 or AQ115 fuel pump to drill down to what you can find.

Oh, and by the way, your lever is most likely in the oil pan.

Re: Aq115a fuel pump help

Thank you for your advice but iv now drilled a hole through the pump as it was only open at one side , Then put a 4mm bolt through it and made a couple of collars by grinding down a couple of 4mm bolts to 2mm and rounding them off , One side was 4mm and the open side was 6mm so i used a collar over the bolt at the 6mm open side so it was nice and snug , It all works fine now but now im thinking i should have grinded the threads off the top half of the bolt so the collar cant move along the threads and tighten to much or slacken :(
Ill give it a try and see how it runs all i need now is to find out where i can get the fuel pump spacer the one thats was on it was broken :(

Part number of the spacer is 460678. You'll need to check distributers to see if it's still available. If there's a marine salvage yard close by, that may also be an option.

Thank you .... Just thought oil may leak through where the bolts are iv put in , So i could put JD water weld on it to stop any leaks but decided to just buy a new pump but i still cant get the spacer without robbing a bank so im just going to go to an engineers and get a aluminium one made it should last for ever :)

Re: Aq115a fuel pump help

New pump fitted ..... All working fine no oil leaks and saved a fortune :)

I used the old pump as a spacer all i did was grind the top off the old pump and grid what was left down to 5mm to make a spacer and made a couple of home made gaskets out of gasket paper to seal it

Got the new pump from local car parts shop i just asked for a lift fuel pump for a volvo b20 engine fits perfect it cost me only ?28
hope this thread help others to save lots of money :)
