aq125/270 penta outdrive.. drive wont lock

aq125a/270 penta out drive.drive bounces in reverse, and will not lock down.also titlt is not working. the tilt unit (motor etc...) insisde the motor compartment is banging and making noise. no movement though..pls help

Unless the tilt motor is all the way up the drive will not lock down and that is why it bounces up when in reverse. If you cant find a new tilt motor right away you can take the tilt motor off of the tilt assembly and stick a large flat screwdriver into it and turn it up by hand. I also got the numbers off the side of the tilt motor and look on e-bay. I paid $40.00 for mine, it list for $230.00
