I know this has been discussed here before and as many have said - It's lasted 30 years. I am restoring a 1985 Monte Carlo by Ebco which the transom was gone and the entire boat needed a lot of work so I gutted it completely including cutting off the cuddy cabin. Rebuilt the transom and decided I would try to make a front engine mount to help the transom survive another 30+ years. So this is what I came up with. Comments welcome.

The U shaped steel piece has two large bolts protruding through it the act as a jack screws and adjust up and down. I know this is totally unneeded but being as anal as I can be just thought I would try to come up with something that would add support to the cantilever design.

There's no adjustability needed.
Mercruiser and OMC need the adjustment. Volvo just hangs in the air.
Install it and after everything's in place, bolt it down.
