aq125 wont start

I have an older aq 125 and it has run good untill today.Put the ears on and tryed to start and no go.The motor turns good and then kind of stops and turns slow and then starts turning good again.I am wondering if it could have jumped time .
Any help would be great and thanks to anyone who can help.

is it turning slow because it's starting to misfire? If so, have a look at your ignition system. Points, condensor, cap rotor plugs are supposed to be a once a year item regardless.

those engines are really picky about spark. try a tune up..

Ok thank you I will try that first.It has run so good I dont think its much but you all gave me a great starting point.
