Big Big thank you. This is my first VP AQ125/270 so I going slow and trying to learn all I can. Been thru Mercruisers most of the time. At 70 yrs old it's always good to keep the grey cells working. I have both the engine and outdrive manuals and a lot reading on going.

You're welcome. Those motors are very common still these days. If you're going through the motor, I would suggest replacing the timing belt. You can use an automotive belt and save money on parts. Also repalce the belt tentioner while your in there, also an automotive part.
Volvo still seems to support that model so parts are easily available.

goto the adults only sticky at the top of the volvo penta forum and click on the volvo info (#2). There are some useful posts in there for your research.
