Re: aq125a overheating
hi again, thanks for all your help this is a great forum.
history of the boat, garage parked. hour meter reads 295 hrs, condition of the boat reflects hours and p.o. story of care. orig. uphol pristine, clean, clean thru out. aq125a with 270. stored outside covered this winter.
starting to pull upper gear case on 270 out drive. to check or replace elbow neck. read thru many threads on sea water system so trying to trouble shoot it. put outdrive into large container filled with water up to cavatation plate. installed new empeller, installed clear tube, poured water into sea water fiiler neck, to help prime pump, water shows in the clear tube, start engine, no water coming thru tube. so figure sucking air on intake side. dis connected exhaust bellows, dis connected u joint bellows.
I found water in u joint bellows,my bet is that not good, how did water get in to the bellows. what is the fix.
i am very mechanical, and have history with water pumps. small engine repair. I think im going to find that even though the boat is in great condition all the seals and o-rings will be dried out to some extent.
thanks again
