Hints the subject, @ WOT, my AQ, for lack of a better word, gurgles oil up and out of the breather tube and dumps into the spark arrestor then in to the carb. It goes with out saying that this makes the RPM dive down and it smokes until its burned out then it returns to normal. The Volvo owners manual states 5.0 quarts including filter. Am I over filling the crank case? What drives the crank case pressure to eject oil out of the breather tube? Can excessive water turbulance force the oil out? Thank you all for any input! And hello again Don .S

[colour=blue]Compression in the crankcase forces oil out the breather. Either you're overfull or bad rings.

It's comp test time.

I agree with Dunaruna and will add, check that the oil fill cap is the correct one. It should be vented and not clogged up. There should also be an oil trap between the block and the flame arrestor.

Like Aldo said, a compression test is in order.
