AQ145A bearings - part numbers

I have a question about the bearings in my Volvo Penta engine. The engine in is Volvo Penta AQ145A and the serial number is 7706001341.

What I have to figure out, before ordering any parts, are the bearing sizes in my engine. The connecting rod bearings have serial no: 463094 and main bearings are: 418223 (4 pcs) and 460644 (the rear one).

And the question is are those bearings standard sizes (equal to Volvo Penta bearing kits: 271063 (connecting rods) and 271214 (main bearing) for the engine) or perhaps some oversizes (.010" or .020")?

Also when I compare the part numbers of those kits to the Volvo car part numbers (B23) they are the same. Is that really so?

Thank you in advance.

The 271214, and 271063 are both standard size bearings.

As far as being the same as the B23, have no idea, I never work on Volvo cars.

Re: AQ145A bearings - part numbers

Sorry, if I wasn't clear enough with my explanation. I meant that the bearings in my engine have part numbers 463094, 418223 and 460644.

I guess those part numbers are replaced by new ones or they are part numbers of individual bearings in a kit, beacuse I can't find anything else matching them.

For example the main bearing has two kinds of bearings with VP part numbers 418223 (4 pcs) and 460644 (the rear one). And if they are standard sizes, I suppose they should be in a STD-sized kit 271214, but I haven't found that information anywhere.

So, I need to know, if those bearings with part numbers 463094, 418223 and 460644 are standard sized (connecting rod/main bearing)?

Yes they are standard size bearings, but those numbers are no longer used. The new numbers I posted are for the main and rod bearing SETS and are both standard size.

[colour=blue]Hannu, the AQ145a is a marinised B23 car engine.

Basically, VolvoPenta took a B23 and changed a bucket load of stuff to make it marine friendly. The crank and BEARINGS are different to those in a car - I suggest that you use the correct marine bearing kits.

Re: AQ145A bearings - part numbers

Thanks for the information Don S. That's exactly what I needed.

I've also read about the differences of car parts and marine parts in my Clymers's Volvo Penta manual and I've gone through some catalogues for Volvo parts and found out that the original part numbers by Volvo are the same for the bearings of marine and car engine (271063 and 271214). So can't understand why should they sell different parts with same part numbers with Volvo and Volvo Penta? ...Well, that's not the problem right now.
