I took my carbs apart to clean them and the shut-off valve on my carburetor is damaged. Does anyone have one that I can buy? It is part number 856105.

I'm not having much luck finding a part number that makes sense. One diagram shows it as the float check valve, another calls it a solenoid valve, and another calls it an idle jet. If it's an idle jet, the carb kits you bought should have replacements. If it's the check valve, about your only hope is to ask around here on the forum, try a marine bone yard, or check ebay for parts. You may need to buy the complete used carb, but that's not necessarily a bad idea.

Be aware that you should replace the aluminum crush washers after removing the fuel lines. Those are one use items and not replacing them may result in you over tightening the banjo bolts to stop the fuel leaks.

Edit: wanted to clarify something. There is a valve attached to the top of the carb that could possibly be called a shutoff valve. That is the fuel inlet valve controlled by the float. Again, new ones are included in the kits. The other check valve I was referring to above prevents backflow from the float chamber to the accelerator pump chamber.

No Title

I have attached a photo of the part that I need. I have looked everywhere and I cannot find it. I do not have anything like it in my rebuild kit.

That is definitely an odd one. I'm guessing it was an upgrade for the 151 and 171 DOHC engines. The VP parts listings are pretty confusing when it comes to that part. They call it a shut off valve but don't have the correct picture on the diagram. Good luck. Let us know what you find.
