Aq225e/280 od water intake neck. Help

Need to replace the water neck on my od. I saw there are two, 1 states for ourselves with trim and has 6 holes, and the other has two and states for non trim. The one on there now which is broken is the 2 bolt, but I do have power trim. It actually looks like when the drive is trimmed up the snout will not clear. Could this be what broke it in the first place? Should I replace with the 6 hole?

A 280 outdrive does not have trim, only an electro mechanical lift motor. Can you post a picture showing your drive and transom shield?

Correct I apologize for confusing the two.
It does have the electro mechanical lift.

When the drive is lifted it just looks as though the snout of the neck could be an obstruction (considering ita broken off at the moment I can't tell for sure).

That actually leads to another question which may be a silly one. I did get the lift motor working recently which was not functional due to a wiring issue. When the drive is lowered it is latched. From what I can see there is nothing on the Inside of the boat that has the ability to "unhook" the latch allowing the lift motor to actually lift the drive. I noticed a rod connected to the latching mechanism that seems as though it would be able to release it but did not see where it connects. I'm assuming something has become disconnected preventing the drive from unlocking automatically so that it can be lifted.

Nvm don just searched and found another thread where you posted the mechanism diagram. Thanks. As for the water neck I'm assuming I should just replace with the two-hole one.
