Wondering if this engine had the 13" or 14" Flywheel. If it is the 14" flywheel then I have a single bearing flywheel housing. Is this correct?

I may be thinking of something different but do you mean one or two piece rear main seal? Just going by the year I would say 14", but from experience, you never know anything from assuming

Re: AQ231A Flywheel

Your boat did not come with nor does it now have a 270 drive. Why do you think it has a 270 drive?
Probably came with the 290 which has the top cover like your drive did in these pictures from your previous post. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=529057

I guess I got stuck on the SP-A lower you was talking about, but you have a 290 or 290A drive and transom shield, not a 270.
Look at this page from the 231A parts section
http://www.volvopentastore.com/Tran...on_id.468343819--store_id.366--view_id.766694

See if your drive still has the ID tag. It should be on the upper gear box just in front of the top cap of the gear box.

No matter what drive, the flywheel cover has two bearings in it.
