I am going to install a new impeller in my sea water pump. After taking the pump apart and removing the old impeller I noticed some deep pitting on the sealing disc. Could anyone tell me how much of an issue this pitting may cause? Some pitting on the housing also. Boat was used in salt water for a time then fresh before I purchased it. I use it in fresh water now. Could the disc be turned over for a smooth finish on the other side?

I have been trying to find a replacement disc but have had no luck so far. I did find the part and number here on iboats at the VP store but the link went to the wrong target item. Contacted tech support they were very helpful and nice, but, had the same problem I had. Said he would contact IT and see if he could find a solution. I will upload some photos to show the issue with the pump.

VP part # is 835516 updated to 856412, 856413, 955513. Listed as item # 11 in the parts diagram.

Later, looks like the sealing disc is a one side install only as it has a tab that fits into a slot on the pump housing. Some have suggested replacing the cam in the pump housing at the same time as impeller. This also seems to be an obsolete part; # 835873. Any ideas?
