aq270 to dp-sm outdrive

aloha guys this is my first post.
i have a 19ft glassply that im repowering from a aq250a aq270 to a 4.3gl with a dp-sm.
my question is for the transom i know my options are to fill in the hole and re cut to the smaller cut of the dp-s outdrive or pick up a transom adaptor plate im leaning more to the adaptor plate.
questions:
how strong are these adaptors?
anyone got one for sale?
how different is the outdrive pattern from mercruiser and dp-s can i use a volvo to merc adaptor? ive read some fourms saying that the merc and cobra (dp-s) use the same pattern??

how strong are these adaptors?

They were designed for the job of adapting the newer engines and drives to older boats with the larger cutouts. So obviously they were designed strong enough for the job.
