Aquamatic 250c drive rotation

Is there a prefered rotation - clockwise or counterclockwise? The linkage looks like thie drive can be set up in either direction if the correct prop is used. Is there any reduction in efficiency?

No reduction in efficiency as Don stated, but RH is considered "standard", and thus, the props are generally cheaper.

Rotation is usually the same as the helm. Starboard side helm = RH rotation propeller.
