I recently bought a 1987 Aquasport 290 XF that is in rough shape. I am probably going to have to repower(gas) her. I have tried to do as much research on the boat as possible and have even contacted Aquasport, but with their changes in ownership, they are unable to locate much information on the boat.

With a repower, I am concerned about the stringers b/c customer service at Aquasport was able to confirm that the stringers were foam-filled on this particular boat.

Does anyone have any experience with older boats and foam-filled stringers?

Is anyone familiar with this Aquasport model and where i might get some general info(thru hull diagram- wiring diagram etc...)

Thanks
Scott

Foam stringers are ok.Alot of boat builders use them to this day.Check out west marine, they sell them made up,ready to be installed. What type of engines do you have?Inboard or outboard? Now,as for as your wiring,do a web search on boat wiring. There is a world standard. On 12v systems, blue color is for running lights, house lights, green is for grounding or bonding, and so on.Like I said, there is a standard, don't remenber all the colors, but a web search will give it to you.
