are 1956 johnson 35 hp and 1957 johnson javilen 35 hp Engines simular? for parts?

I have a 1957 Johnson javelin 35 hp Gold top, and I seen a 1956 Johnson 35 hp engine for sale with the generator and belt, I was woundering if it was compatible? also other parts like carb parts and controls? thank you bill

Do you mean 1956 30hp?? They did not make a 35hp in '56, so need some more info before answering.

What is the model number of the one for sale, or a picture would identify it quickly.

If it is another 57, 58 virtually everything the same. Will wait for more details though.

That is a standard 1957 35hp. EXACT same as your Javelin without the fancy chrome. If the price is right, a perfect parts motor for you.
