Are all coffee makers junk....well more like the pot itself. The last (3) coffee makers we have had make a mess every time you pour a cup of coffee. Seems like no matter how slow or careful you pour it still runs down the front of the pot and all over the counter....

Is it just me??? Am I getting to old to pour coffee mes free?? :)

Ha whattya know, we were just hating on our little Black and Decker POS not 5 minutes ago. It's like a dribble glass from a novelty store. Lid up, lid down, pour a little, pour a lot, pour fast, pour slow, it doesn't matter. They should bundle these with a roll of Bounty when they sell them.

Yeah mine all did that they all sucked, then i broke down and bought a Bunn , You can't pour fast but it is better. If you are in a hurry you will spill a little. Coffee ready in 3 min and it is hot not luke warm.

I use a Black & Decker with square-lipped carafe. It works GREAT with no spillage.

I had a Bunn and it didn't make a mess. I have a Mr. Coffee now and I got pretty good at not making a mess while pouring but do it over the sink anyway. Seems like the ones without the lid attached work better.

We have the stainless steel version of that, I think it's the Black & Decker Coffee Bastard Model BDBM002.

I don't do it over the sink, because it makes a mess in the sink, which I then have to rinse away. This about equals the quick counter-top-wipe in effort & resource expenditure, so it ends up being a wash (...sorry bad pun).

I tried that method but since TD and I live 1150 miles from each other it got tiring with the amount of coffee I consume :p

I have a traditional B&D and as long as I pour slowly I can usually do it clean..... now when I carry the coffee cup across the kitchen ....that's another mess! ;)

Our new Mr. Coffee carafe was really bad. G.F. called and complained and they sent a us "new design" carafe free of charge that is only slightly better.

Bunn is the best I have found so far.

At our house the big problem is breaking the glass pots. We have a Bunn coffee maker we have had for around 3 years now. In that time I would guess we have went through about 5 glass pots. The original Bunn pot was great. This generic pot we have at the present isn't too bad but we have had some Mr. Coffee pots and a Sunbeam that I seriously wondered if they weren't manufactured by a practical joke team. :D

I believe messin with these coffie makers can be a waste of time. If you want good coffie I learned its in using fresh beans you grind yourself , Use and expresso machine and add water to the exspresso for a real cup of coffie. No more using the old dried out coffie you get in a bag already ground up. That stuff is always old and taste like it. A good expresso machine cost no more than a regular one,

We have a keurig instant coffee maker. No pot so ne mess. And it is so easy to use. The coffee is good if you like a regular cup of coffee. If your someone who requires there coffee to be like mud then you are on your own.

Get you a Hamiliton Beach Brewstation. They come in a couple of different sizes...I think a 12 cup and maybe a 10 cup. You never have to worry about pouring again. Dispenses sort of like a drink machine where you use the cup to press a button and out comes the coffee.

I've been using one for a year or so now. Never will go back to the old glass carafe type again.

I too use a french press. WAY better coffee, it is like $20 at walmart for one, no spillage, a whole press of coffee is ready in 2 min. I love mine and will never go back to a coffee machine.
