Greetings,
I aquired 2 outboard motors when i bought my boat ( the boat i think is headed to a date at the dump
) and i'm trying to decide whether or not to include them in the run to the dump or see if one of them is worth putting some time into to have a motor ready and waiting when i find a boat worth keeping.
The First one is a 1969 55 HP Evinrude. This one probably is headed to the scrap heap, as mice decided it would be a wonderful place to make nests and babies in with all that wonderful wiring it has. I guess the only question i have is there any parts worth pulling off to sell? Here are 2 general pics, if you want me to take a pic of something specific, please let me know.

The second motor i have is a 1972 65HP Johnson. It's complete, and i think this one might be worthwhile to do at least a compression check to see if the motor is any good, but if i decide to get into this motor, can i get parts for it? is it even worthwhile? Or, as with the evinrude, should i rob some parts off of it and let it follow the same fate?

Any input regarding these motors is really appriciated and you have my thanks in advance.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
jeff
