Slowly but surely Im getting the boat just how I want it. The last thing I need replaced are the engine mounts. I was told these are a pair. How hard/easy are they to replace and are these the ones I need and how many of each? Thanks in advance...

I have the same mounting clamp plate that your picture shows but the lower mount yoke is different. What engine do you have? My mount kit is a different part # from the merc cross-referenced kits listed on the web page. It is 42930A 1. I gave up trying to change mine as it required angle grinding to remove the bolt and I had to remove the powerhead, too much. I was able to add a steel insert around the mount so I wouldn't have any play. Now I have 1/16" for/aft play at most. Surprisingly, there is very little written about replacing the lower mounts on this forum. Take a lot of pictures if you go through with it. You might motivate me to retackle this non-gratifying task.

It is a '96 125 hp...But if it's as complicated as you put it I probably wont tackle it myself :(

Yes that is your lower ones and you have some under your power head. If your replacing your lower one just take the two bolts out and then pull the bracket of and then loosen your other bolt going thru the mount and remove the mount.

Be very carefull with removing those bolts!! I had to replace a mount on my 150 Mariner and BOTH of them were perma seized and i broke the heads off both bolts even when i used heat on them.

The broken bolts never would come out as they were pretty much bonded to the exhaust housing. What i had to do was fabricate a new mount out of exhaust clamp halves and drill and tap 4 new holes to mount studs into the exhaust housing.

The repair worked and is top quality, but it blows to have to do that just for a couple broken bolts.

I would take them to a machine shop and see if they can get them out otherwise your gonna have to get creative as i did. If you want pics of the repair i did i can take some and send em to ya.

If you could I would appreciate it.

It's good to see this thread come back to life. I was told the power head had to be removed and it would cost an arm and a leg! I guess they were trying to rip me off!

Which would be the ones I need for the 125 hp 1996?

It's a lot of work.If you really need to change them do it but if they are still in 1 piece and just rusty leave them alone.
The marine industry goes on and on about corrosion resistance but won't spend the extra $ to stop this problem.
Good luck. J

The rubber mount itself is disintegrating...
