Re: argo amphibious good bad ?

The neighbor at the lake had one for a couple of years. It was a joke on the water. Sure it moved, but slowly and awkwardly. It would be GREAT for muddy and boggy areas, but on the water the last thing you would call it is a stellar performer.

It's one of those things that looks like a good idea but doesn't end up working out as well as you might have originally thought.

Those things don't work well as a full time boat or atv. They are good for hunting if you are in a lease with several duck ponds, etc. They are also pretty expensive new ($10,000+). You'd be better off buying a jon boat and a 4 wheeler.

I have one an love it. Its good in ponds. With a trolling motor or kicker motor it would go in the water a lot better. They are stable in the water. It even handle falling thru the ice this year. It will go about anywhere you want to go.

Route 6x6 has a lot of good info on there.
