Hey guys. Recently sold the Arriva 2000 with outboard and got an Arriva 2050 with 5.0 Mercruiser and alpha one outdrive. The boat came with 3 props, a 19p 3 blade aluminum, a 20p 3 blade and a 21p high five stainless prop. The high five seems to work the best but none of them jump out of the hole very quickly especially if there is a couple people in the boat. It really doesn't want to get on plane and I usually need to get some people to sit up front while I stand there too. When it does plane out I'm only reaching about 3800 rpm and approx the same speed. 38 mph. I haven't found many people with this boat in my limited time to get online but I assume it should perform a lot better than this. Anyone have any experience with this or know someone? Should I go with an even smaller pitch? I'm surprised that the 21 5 blade is better than the 19. I'm looking for good response out of the hole more than top speed but figure this boat should be a rocket. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

you need a prop that's going to get you to your recommended WOT range.. 4500-4800.. assuming your engine is not ill, you report the 21p works the best?? 3800 top end is not best.... best response out of the hole will be a 4 blade... in correct pitch... I'd look at a 17p 4 blade if I were you....

Thanks I will look into a 17p I'm used to my 150 outboard and the 19 was as low as I wanted to go with that so I wasn't sure. And I apologize about the two posts I did this on the iPad and it kept saying error and couldnt send so I did it again and now there is apparently two. I will try to remove

Your 38 mph seems reasonable for 3800 rpm.
At 3800 you have to make up about 1000 rpm really not practical with a prop. Boat should just about fly out of the hole and I would think 50 would be easy.
The first suspect is the motor. What is the age.A compression check would help tell about the condition of the motor.
Some easy checks:: a plug wire may be off or crossed with another.Throttle may not be opening all the way.Perhaps a choke or primer failure.
Maybe a defective or fouled plug.

A 17p sounds about right. I would try to find a dealer that lets you try the prop before you buy it because every boat is different. I have been there and done that and still trying to sell the extra props I have.
