Hi Ya my friends, if you check out the link in my siggy it will lead you to a very bland looking white boat. Are there any of you out there with an artistic bent (meant in the nicest possible terms) who could suggest a colour scheme to brighten her up a bit. No airbrushing please but a good old solid masking tape and slap it on type of beautyfying.

That IS a white boat! Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course.<br /><br />I don't have any good suggestions, though, I think. I'm not much of an artist, I guess.

You might want to think about vinyl accents...stripes and the like. They're easy to apply and might be all you need.<br /><br />Here in the US, there are several places that sell them on the web. I found one UK sign-maker that discusses them with a search on Google for "vinyl boat stripes UK" (no quotation marks).<br /><br />Automotive supply places also have vinyl striping materials here in the US. I don't know about the UK.

I am no artist..... but I would paint the mid section of the hull a pale yellow.<br />Many custom built(very expensive) boats come with a colored gellcoat like that and they look great.

I'm not sure what your budget is, but what I would do is simply change all of the canvas and those curtains to blue. IMHO most boats look great with white hulls and blue accents and canvas. Blue canvas also resists fading much better than other colors. That's why it is so popular.

I agree with the vinyl stickers and changing the curtains. I personally don't like wild paint jobs, just some simple color graphics on the sides. Do some searching on the web and find something you like, alot of places around here will custom cut graphics for a decent price.

I'd keep that cabin white, though. It will help keep the interior cool. Curtains are an excellent idea, and inexpensive. A rakish blue stripe on the side of the cabin might also be a nice touch, with a matching one midway between the gunwales and the bottom line.

Many thanks to all for your excellent suggestions which are all worthy of investigation. Change the curtains man, are you crazy? I had to stand over my missus with a baiting needle before she would even make the one set I've got. Keep the cabin white to keep cool? are you forgetting young Sir that I live in England, brrr! :0(<br />I think I will go the vinyl stickers route, because as you say, they will be easier to apply.<br />We have a auto accessory shop in our town which sells all different types of 'go faster' stripes so I will have a look there for a start.<br />Once again many thanks for your time.

I liked what I could see of your efforts but when I tried to enlarge picture I was informed by an error message that I am too stupid to do it. Oh so true. :0)

We are supposed to be having a heat wave ( there's a song there somewhere LOL)next week so maybe I can get some quality boat time in. With regard to your 'keep posting those photo's' being a newbie on here, and still feeling my way about, are photo's appreciated on the forums? <br />Cheers.
