So Ive posted about this motor a couple times and never had a response. My 1987 30e mariner is doing it again. End of hunting season last year I finally got the ob to quit doing it then in spring I was running out of a bayou and hit a small snag nothing major and the ob started just completely dieing on half throttle and up, sounding like it wasnt getting enough fuel so I get home pull the carb and clean it put it back on take it back out and adjust the carb and most of the problem was gone except the bogging I adjust the airfuel mix one way and it bogs when trying to get on plane.
Adjust it the other way and it boggs on top end and would not reach full speed just bog like a drumeral. (With that being said I have fooled around with the idle adjust screw and the air fuel mix together and have gotten the rpms and speed way up but it misses and will not run right at half throttle etc. is there a certain area the idle screw is supposed to be before I adjust the air fuel mix?)
So I rebuilt the fuel pump eliminated the antique filter on the motor and also have an inline filter installed.
Last night I ordered a rebuild kit (for the carb) just to say lets try that, eventhough I just rebuilt the thing beginning of last year, also I donot have a thermostat in, that is on order could that have alot to do with it??.Its not my fuel tank or the primer bulb due to connecting them to my other boat and it runs fine....
All hoses ,fuel lines, fuel line disconnect and male end are new!! Can anyone help me I can pretty much diagnose alot of things but something here isnt working for me.
Any ideas greatly appreciated Ryan
