Hello, I have a 1976 Johnson 70. Model# 70EL76D

I have been trying to resolve an idling and full throttle issue. I have cleaned and rebuilt carbs, changed fuel pump, changed plugs, checked compression and made sure all cylinders were firing.I am now in the process of replacing reed boxes and reeds. MY question is - Do I need to put any gasket sealer on the new intake manifold gaskets? And if so, Can I use HI TACK Permatex? I have a Seloc manual but it doesn't say wether to use sealer or not. Thanks for any advice!

Thanks Dhadley! I also have another question, before I took the old reeds out I noticed some fuel sitting in the bottom set . Is this normal? Not alot of fuel just a little. Thanks!

It could be normal. Hard to say without looking. There should not be much at all though.
