hey guys,

well guys I have been wrestling with a problem for the past 3-5 outings. after draining tank and replacing fuel. checking fuel pump. and changing the water/fuel separator 3 times and taking all fuel to carbs, I am hoping I can rule out water in the lines. Recently I have been having an issue with the motor losing rpms and sometimes won't get above 1700. if i bump the choke it will slowly rise or if i reach back and use the manual choke about half way out it will pick back up and get up to speed. sometimes this doesn't work and i have to put back to ramps at 6mph. sometimes at low RPMs i get a little sneeze which is scaring me (was told that this was a sign of a lean mixture)

anyone know of or had these issues before? Am I just doomed to paying the 750-1100 dollars (rough estimate from local shop)?

I am tearing into the carbs with hopes of dirt, sludge, or a note saying this is the problem. I am at my wits end if this doesn't fix it I might be done :)

okay couldn't sleep because of this so I went out and removed the carbs. took apart the fuel bowls and noticed what appeared to be old water perhaps? what gel looking stuff in the fuel bowls. removed jets and everything looked good so i have them soaking at the moment in some mek and will be brushing them clean and reassemblying with orginal gaskets. hopefully won't have any leaks.

hoping this is the problem!!!

Hi there!

I have a 2005 115 yamaha 2stroke which has been playing up on a not so regular basis twice in the last 5 full day trips and it sounds just as you have described above!
But when it happens it clears after 20-40min then she's fine..

So did the problem for you end up being the carb??

Thanks
