Ok I bought a 19' Hammond with a tandum trailer for $300.00 it has a new 3.8 OMC engine no interior. So I tell my son that we need to make sure it is lake worthy before we put any money into it. So the biggest thing we found wrong was the transom seal needed replace. We worked all day to get the new seal replace, he was so excited that we may actually get to put it in the water. So off to the lake we go, fresh battery and new seal. He backs me down the ramp and I fire it up - man she sounds great so off the trailer I go. Pick him up on the shore and we start a quick trip around the cove. Runs great but I notice every time I pull back on the trottle I hear a thump from the rear, so we look back there and see that everytime we give it gas the engine raises up about 4 inches-remember the new engine? Well it was so new that it was not bolted down! We idled back to the ramp he gets the trailer and I get all lined up. Get up close give it some gas to push it up on the trailer and I look at the engine to see how much it raise up and see water rushing in. The transom seal poped off!!! I am glad it was on the trailer! Time for an interior...and motor mount bolts :D

Very wise to try it out before doing anything else. Bet you check the motor mountings first if there is a next time !!!
