Okay so I can't find much information on my audible alarm system. Does anyone know if I can validate that mine is in working order? Some manuals say ther should be a beep when i turn the key on. some manuals actually talk about a light of some sort. I don't have either of those. It is a 2000 Volvo Penta 5.7GSi PEFS.

I just want to make sure it is in working order. Just in case i have low oil pressure or high temp that i don't see right away.

Your alarm should be on the engine near the main harness connector. Should beep when you first turn the key on.
It will have two wires on it.
Purple = power when key is on.
Tan with black stripe = ECM will ground this wire to turn on alarm.

Not sure what year your is but I own a 98 Chris Craft. There have never been any audible alarms on start-up. Boat was one year old when I purchased.

My motors are/were 5.7 GSIPEFS, and they do beep on turning the key. This is to prove they work. Put 12v to horn to verify it even works.
