Audio alarm when starting boat is not working, called local dealer and he said bad fuse. Checked all fuses and all are good. I'm not familiar with what the horn would look like and or if a fuse is connected to it. Any help would be appreciated, trouble shooting.

Re: Audio Alarm Q5I

Again, someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'm no mechanic. The buzzer will pretty much be dangling by wires under the instrument panel. About half dollar size and white on one side. It should come on the first time you turn the ignition on but will go off on it's own after a given amount of time or possibly after you crank the engine. I don't know of any in line fuses but there could be some, also there also sending units involved for different sensors. Here's what I've come across. Pull the tan and blue wire and touch it to a ground. If it doesn't work, the alarm is bad. If it does there's trouble elsewhere.

If the alarm itself does work you could ask this question in another section since the alarm is Mercruiser equipment.

There is no fuse for the alarm . Below the dash you will see a white net looking cover abt. 4 inches long. Inside this cover will be your alarm .A quick check of the alarm would be to pull the cover back to expose the alarm . You can unplug the alarm from the harness there will be a purple wire and a brown wire. the purple is your positive , the brown is your negitive.Find a way to touch the positive and negitive to a power source{ charger/ battery} to check. If it still does not work then you need to replace via a Mercury dealer.

How did this work for you?. Let us know so maybe it will help someone else. I went to my boat and verified what I advised as far as checking the warning horn. Check in with us.

Found the buzzer underneath all the wiring. Come to find out, the buzzer is out. Unplugged the buzzer and reattached and a weak sound then a muffle came out. Reordered a new buzzer off of ebay for $15 - quicksilver mercruiser part factory oem. Thanks for all the help.

Good for you. Didn't turn into an expensive headache.
