I have a gold cheetah outboard 3 hp. Gold cheetah is was an asutralian company in the 1950's it was part of a motorcyle company and was a very basic motor. i am wondering if there is any australian users who know how to remove the propeller the propellor has a nut cap on the end but there appears to be no split pin and appears to be welded on. but the prblem is that the shaft is weak and old and if i break the nut off ill never find a replacement part. any ideas. also if anyone knows if the gear case is fully sealed or is just open.

Thanks Tom

Re: Australian Gold Cheetah

Hi Tom, welcome to i-boats. I saw that motor in an outboard museum down in Lochsport, from memory it was built by Bounty Manufacturing Company of Springvale, Melbourne Victoria.

Try e-mailing this guy - I think he is a 'old outboard guru'.

oldoutboards@adlink(remove for spam).com.au

Good luck.
Aldo
