I got a '71 glastron with a '96 evinrude 90hp Ocean Pro. Motor was just installed. At any speed it pulls right hard.kinda scary. The steering cables were installed a year ago when it had a Merc. It ran straight then.Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Automatic right turns

very simple adjustment, the is a tab just above the prop. bolt in center, loosen, if wheel pulls right, move back of tab to right, wheel pulls left, back of tab to left.

Re: Automatic right turns

Sounds like the trim tab (located on the bottom of the cavitation plate, just aft of the propeller) is either missing, or mis-adjusted.

To adjust the trim tab, loosen the securing bolt, and move the trim tab in the direction the boat pulls. For example, if the boat pulls to starboard, move the trailing edge of the trim tab to starboard. Make these adjustments in small increments and test the results. The object is to create a "hands off straight line" steering condition for the normal operating speed. It is not possible to completely eliminate steering pull throughout the engine speed range.
