Hey everyone I have a 1968 johnson 20hp I guess they have a "automatic" shut off when you turn the tiller all the way down (towards slow). Is there anyway to stop this from happening? Thanks in advance

There should be a idle stop screw at the pivot point where the linkage makes a right angle going up into the cowling.

If that is the case will I be able to set the tiller so all the way down is just idle?

Yes. The idle screw on the pivot gear is actually threaded nylon and they are often broken off. I've used a bolt with a spring to tension it in its place...
