My oil plug continues to leak so I would like to install a standard automotive plug. The engine is a '96 3.0GS MNCA Serial#4110131584. Where could I get the plug I need?
Thanks again for the help!

Mark

You need to replace the seals, or what ever is bad, If you replace the dipstick tube and fitting with a plug, you will not have any way of checking the oil.

Hey Good Morning!

My dip stick tube goes to the block. The tube that rises out of this drain plug has a screw cap about diameter of a nickel. You can unscrew the cap, stick the suction tube in and draw the oil out.
I never had much luck with the suction thing..so I removed the plug at the pan.

But I welcome any help to stop the leak..I've been fighting it probably ever since I removed it the first time.
I have replaced the gasket and it did not help.

Thanks again for the help!
Mark

There are actually 3 orings/gaskets on that fitting.
Item 66, 3851981
Item 68, 3853674
Item 81, 3852033
You might try all of them to cure your problem, if it doesn't work, just take the treaded bolt to your local NAPA store to get a plug, they can match the thread.
