Automotive Numbers for OMC Parts

For the OMC parts that are not Marine-specific, does anyone know where I can find any crossreferences to automotive part numbers (GM, Rochester, etc.) OMC parts are becoming expensive and hard to find and I expect the identical part is sitting on a local Advance Auto/NAPA shelf but I don't know the automotive number. Sometimes a number on the part can help, but not always. Also, sometimes the same part is available in a Mercruiser box. That xref would be useful also. NOTE: I'm not trying to interchange similar parts - just exact part replacements. Thanks!

Tarheel fan, go to your NAPA store because he has the parts you need. :)

Fellow Great North State citizen, I'm not a Tarheel fan, I graduated from NC State! I've heard of a NAPA Marine catalog. I'm wondering if it has number xrefs?

Bondo - I'm looking for the "Vacuum Break Assembly" that hangs off the Rochester 2V carb on my '87 4.3L Cobra. It closes the choke a little during heavy vacuum. OMC part# 984490. Bombardia/OMC wants $57. for it. Thanks.

Ed, the NAPA Marine catalog is really Sierra in drag. The part you are looking for was not listed in my NAPA book, however it is getting a little old. All they show is rebuild kits.

I would think the counter guys would have some other kind of resources to draw from to help with the carb parts. Try looking up an 86 or 87 vintage Chevy carbed 4.3 and compare the parts.

edfresh,
Try going to NAPA with the carb number and let them look it up. I think they call it a choke pull-off. The 4v ones go for bout 15-20 bucks.
tommays,
I think this ones ok to go with non marine. Theres no electric to it and it doesn't have to do with fuel. Its just a vacuum diaphram hooked to intake vacuum to releave the choke a little when started. I can't see it being dangerous.

I'd Also just drag it over to NAPA,+ See what they've got........

I Doubt there's an Automotive part for it,....
It's a Marine Carb.,+ Most autos are now EFI....And have been for Years.....
