aux. charging lead on yamaha

installing house battery. should i run auxillary charge leads to switched side of batt switch or batt sise of switch. also can i connect the aux charging leads from both motors together.

do you have a seperate switch for the house battery? if not you need one. no dont hook the two aux leads to the same post. will confuse the regulator and it may not charge at all.

seperate switch for house battery. would like house battery to charge with either motor running.

then you will need another Isolator or two switches. but if you connect both aux leads the charging (sense) circuits will see the battery as "charged" and may shunt the current to ground intead of to the battery. there is an isolator made for two inputs and one output.

thanks rodbolt. finished wiring today. did not reinstall batteries yet. i will see what happens tomorrow. will leave one lead disconnected.

tape it off or otherwise secure it. dont want it touching anything. how many batteries are onboard ?

3 batteries, 2 starting group 27 and just added 1 house group 31.

hello<br /> take one aux leat to the house batt and the other to the starting batt for that aux lead engine. make sure the switch keeps the two engines seperated. need a minimum of two switches and I would prefer 3. wire the autobilge pump wire(fused of course) to the batt side of one of the switches. if everything is wired correctly when you leave for the day or have an electrical emergency/incedent all the power can be secured to everything. once switched to the off position the only thing "hot" should be the auto bilge switch.
