Arent GMT and Zulu are the same thing? Nice if you are making a long distance call to England. I agree with the daylight saving time thing. It is like going through jet lag every year.

Euro,

I think Zulu line runs through some place in the Pacific Ocean, not England  I could be wrong though

You are correct. Love your analogy with jet lag. LOL I think I'm to use it this year.
GMT uses GMT+ 01 where plus or minus 1 to 12 for zones
ZULU is Military and uses ZULU A for the same time zone as GMT +01
I usually use ZULU in conversations because of my backround in military communications. And most Ham operators do the same. Makes it easier when providing emergency communications in times of need. (working with the military and goverment)

This is from the GMT web site:
Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone. Greenwich Mean Time is international time, the basis of the world time clock. Marks precision time and military time (sometimes called Zulu Time). Defines date and time and exact time. The atomic time clock is adjusted by leap seconds to maintain synchronicity with GMT.

Thanks for the reply Link. It is nice to be right on occasion and not just politically right.
