First I want to thank many on the board for help with the ignition and pressure tank. Both plugs sparked today and after 10 days of soaking the check valve in the tank pickup tube broke loose.

Now I have a question regarding the carburetor.

My Sierra kit includes several fiber washers. Are these the packing for the high and low speed nozzles. If they are the packing how many do I use. There are enough for 2 per.

My kit calls for a washer on top of the packing but i do not see one in the kit. Do I use 2 fiber washers and call it good.

Use as many packing washers under the nut as required. I always start with one and add a second if it needs it. It usually takes two packing washers. I also give the packing a little shot of oil to lube them before I install them. Its not necessary, but I think it gives a better seal.

The parts diagram calls for 2 packing washers and one big packing nut washer, which does not seal anything. If you don't have the big washer don't worry about it.

A shot of oil. I like that idea. Would make it easier and should seal better. Good idea!
