I can't believe people have the nerve to try to pull things like this. On craigs list maybe but on ebay come on. I checked out this "awesome" boat today to find a complete basket case with a very bad transome and lots of soft spots on the floor not to mention the rest of it was beat to hell as well. But hey it can be yours for the very generous price of only $8000??? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...40436517148&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123

It could be a scam. It could be someone who just thinks that all boats are worth money and has no idea what is actually wrong with it.

There are as many people out there that just don't know as there are scammers.

Best plan is to just warn others not to buy for that price. I noticed the bid was $2700. It might be worth that if the engine and drive are good.

It's odd. He has two other boats for sale as well. Maybe he doesn't know or maybe he's looking for someone that doesn't know what to look for. Maybe thinking the high price will keep those away that do. An awful lot of maybes in my post, isn't there. :D

I looked at this particular seller's rating. He's done a lot of purchasing to get a high rating, but the one thing he's sold (a boat) he got negative feedback for.

I've come to the conclusion that purchasing anything on ebay is a gamble, you need to accept the fact that you may be throwing your money away. I just bought a lower unit which wasn't what the seller claimed and am now working my way through the joke ebay calls "buyer protection".

Look close at the enlarged photos and the boat looks like it was used hard. Really hard. Everything shows wear, leaks, and neglect.

My feeling is he bought it hoping to make a quick buck. He said he only had it for a year. The last reg. sticker is from 06 so its been sitting a while (probably because it isn't sea worthy). I'm always amazed that people will bid on cars and boats without even inspecting them first. Not smart!

Exactly what I was going to say. The cabin is stained and overhead carpet is coming off, stern rubrail and corner(s) look like they were used in a bumper-boat amusement ride. Anyone that reads "AWESOME", and just goes by that, well, they deserve the awesome-ness of this boat.
