115 johnson crossflow 1995

After spending hours looking over every part of this engine testing everything. Wondering why it wont start. Well a trip to a real mechanic and $250 dollars later turns out the collar on the inside of the flywheel that triggers the ignition broke loose and shifted, ever heard that one before?

The flywheel hub magnet came loose. It isn't common but it does happen. Be very thankful your motor would not start. Most times it advances the timing and POOF!, there goes a piston. Then the powerhead gets rebuilt / replaced but the cause goes unresloved and guess what? A repeat failure! Just make sure the WOT timing is set and you should be good to go.

Enjoy!
