Anyone have similar leak issue or solution?? Pic is the center portion of my 3 piece backdrop. The lower horizontal seam/sewpoint seems to be catching some rain as gravity has rain running down the backdrop. There is a pretty steady drip on a normal rain, worse on heavy rain.I had plastic replaced and addressed the issue with canvas tech. They used what I think he called "seam tape" on new plastic between the plastic and canvas. He also used a smaller tighter stitch and did 2 rows of stitching.Still have some dripping.I have overapplied several major waterproofings.(starbrite, formula 303 etc.) directly to the area. Before I have a third row of stitching done to try to solve this,I figured someone may have had similar with a solution.Oh and another canvas shop told be that eventually dirt will fill it the void and slow the drip.Anyway....I keep my boat too clean for that to happen.Anyone?? I know you don’t want to hear it, especially from me….but It’s made wrong.

The “glass” is supposed to be is sewn on the “outside” of the material/enclosure then framed (sandwiched) with a second layer of fabric to cover the glass and strengthen the seam.

Hard to see in the picture but this is mine.

What you are saying sounds logical and the plastic on the "outside" is also my way of thinking for the sake of waterproofing. However I have used the best of canvas shops and the most basic of canvas shops and they all do the plastic the same way .Sailrite has great instructional videos on the process and they also sew it the same way. most backdrops dont have plastic so I guess the way it is done is the "cleaner" looking way from the outside.Couldnt make out the pic.Charlie

And as you noted above, their assembly practices are not quite up to par....lol

To be fair, that seam would suffice on most vertical surfaces except when exposed to direct spray or runoff.
