A few years ago I had stopped at Dunkin Donuts on the way to the lake. I parked my truck and trailer with 21 foot Four Winns bow rider pretty far from the shop for an easy in and out. When I got the ramp I noticed the prop was dented from behind. Somebody had backed into the stern between my house and the ramp. The blades were fine but the disperser was pushed in about an inch (aluminum prop). Not a big deal 45 bucks to get it repaired plus a good reason to go get a SS.
Over the next two years the boat went down hill fast. I replaced both trim cylinders and the trim pump. Then I started noticing semi-circular stress cracks growing around the stern-drive. Maybe caused by the impact, maybe the age of the boat. The boat was 20 years old and if it were not for the dated design, this boat looked new and was a solid as they come. I do believe the impact caused this.
I got rid of the boat last year (a very painful and traumatic experience for me). To this day, I get the coffee before I hook the trailer up.
