I will be doing the fiberglass job on my new bow eye installation tomorrow. I am needing to back the boat off of the keel roller so that I can adequately access and fill the old Bow Eye holes for re-drilling after I am finished.

From what I understand .... it is ok to slowly back the boat off of the keel roller, and let it hang over the back of the trailer. Am I correct? It will only need to be moved a maximum of a foot. Will my boat be ok in sitting off of the back of the trailer, unsupported, for a day or more?

Also, am I correct in assuming all I will need to do is slowly pull the boat back on the keel roller after all is said and done?

Re: Backing Off Of Keel Roller

if you only have rollers it will probably work. If you have bunks and keel rollers you might need to raise the back end up.
