Backup engine if main engine fail.

What would be a good recommended backup engine , i have heard of the electric proped system are they any good? or just get a small engine and have it bracket on to the stern.

it really depending on the size of the boat, and where you are boating. what size is the regal.

ideally, i would use atleast a 15hp with separate fuel source. a lot of problems are contaminated fuel, so if they use the same source, neither will run. proper maintanance on the main engine goes a long way. also Seatow.

Without doubt a gas motor and seperate fuel source would be your best bet. You cann also troll with it if necessary.

best thing is to simply make sure the main motor gets prioper service and PREVENTATIVE maint.
corrective maint means your behind the curve.
99% of the repairs I do are simply created by lack of maint.
if you wait till its broke to fix it you waited way to long.
its a good thing I guess, keeps my cats fed and my horse in hay.

Seatow or Boat US tow coverage. Best of all there is no maintenance and it doesn't breaks down. ;)
