My Dads 2000 Sylvan 20' with 90 Merc seems to create ALOT of backwash/turbulance behind the boat. The dealer has moved the motor up and down the transom with no change. The trim doesn't change the condition either. It just dosen't seem right and I don't think WOT gets 20 mph. There is no water in the pontoons.

Re: Backwash turbulance

The turbulence is the nature of the beast and you'll do little to solve it.

The 20 mph may also be normal depending on load, wind and current.

Check the speed with a GPS and take an average of the speeds in opposite directions.

Good luck

Agree, that is just how they are.

You essentially have 2 hulls side by side both throwing there own wake and it has nowhere to go under the boat, look at another toon runnig and you will see they are all like that.
