I have 15 gallons of potentially bad gasoline. It sat in a tank for 2 years and has a dingy brown color. Any ideas on safe disposal? I live in Jacksonville, FL.

Re: Bad gas disposal resource.

The COJ HHW list does not include gasoline. I better try and reach them by phone and ask. Maybe you have had experience with them and gasoline.
Thanks,
Richard

Most sites don't want gasoline because of the explosive vapor produced.

I would filter it carefully and run it in any (older) EFI car, diluted.

Could always run it through a filter first to remove any particles and then add a gallon to you car every now and then and use it up that way.

This is probably the best solution, thanks.

Our County Haz-Mat Depot takes it, no problem. I do so much, we trade 55 gallon drums when I bring one to them. Saves us from having to empty into their drums.

I pumped about 7 gallons of years old gas from my new to me '69 pick-up. I've been putting 1/2 gallon at a time into the full 10 gallon tank on our '05 Corolla. I can't notice any ill effect on the car.

Yeah. I did the same with my 55 F-600. 5-6 year old gasoline (about 7 gallons) mixed 10:1 and ran in my 2003 Chev Cavalier "Commuter-Car" (EFI 4-cyl) until it was gone.

I couldn't tell any difference. I did make sure that it was filtered well though.
