I finally put my boat in the water, and water was leaking around the tilt/trim motor. Is it possible to replace a gasket without removing the entire sea-drive?

Re: bad seal between transom and tilt-trim motor on sea=drive

hi there! Yup, its a "sea-drive" with a 1.6L v4 hanging off the end. I found a posting on tilt/trim that might be helpful, but am afraid of tinkering with the hydraulic rams. I've extended the motor in the full up position, and blocked it. Can I disconnect the four bolts that hold the engine hydraulic cylinder? If so, I could then remove the tilt/trim unit and re-align it, and possibly fit a new gasket or use a sealant and snug it tight. Sound right?

Hi Guys! I have a manual, but it has very vague descriptions. It is a 1985 1.6 Litre OMC.
