Well it looks like my boat saga continues. I just replaced a blown 4.3 motor in my Chaparral (Volvo 4.3 GL PBYC, SX-C2 drive) with a new engine (not a rebuild) and now it has some bad vibes at idle and all RPM?s. Seems to not resonate as much when you increase RPM?s but it is still there. Pulled the drive back off and run it and it still vibrates but noticeably less. Motor has a new balancer but I reused the flywheel off the old one. Sounds like it?s coming from the rear bellhousing but it?s hard to determine since it?s pretty loud and in the doghouse. The original motor locked up violently while cruising at about 3500 RPM?s so I?m wondering if it may have damaged the coupler. I?ve only run it on the muffs so far so I don?t know how it will act under a load. Any thoughts or troubleshooting advice would be appreciated.
