I boat in a particularly dirty lake (dammed off river full of brush and junk) I trailer my fiberglass Thompson everytime and only left it overnite a couple times. The water spots I get on the hull after only a few hours are crazy and stuff like windex wont get them off the only way to get it totally clean is cleaner wax, and that sucks to do 3 times a week! Has anyone found a product that works well on tough water spots that you can spray on and wipe off easily?

You can pay for a lot of specialty water spot removers. 50% water and vinegar works as well or better than any of them . . . Eats up wax though, so you do need to stay after it. Detailers often use the vinegar and water before they wax.

Yeah, I have paid for Ducky, and it works, kinda smells like and performs just like vinegar and water . . .

Re: Bad water spots

I had some stuff that looked like mud on mine last time we went out. We came about midnight, so it was dried on by the next day. It would not come off with water and a towel. I grabbed some Simple Green I had laying around, sprayed it on in 4 foot section, gave it just a minute. Everything wiped right off. I dont think it will have any ill effects on the gelcoat, but it worked very well. BTW it way done in the driveway not near any water. Best thing to do is take a towel with you and as soon as you get to the top of the ramp, out of everyones way, wipe it down.

Try using a silicone product instead of wax..then when you pull the boat clean it with Mr Clean's - Magic Eraser.
Or just try the ME next time out, its the minerals in the water attacking the gelcoat, so the plan is to seal the porous gelcoat as best as you can..then clean. But try the Magic Eraser first...you'll be amazed.
